One Tree Hill is a series related to the incidents that take place in the state of North Carolina in a fictional town called Tree Hill. This series is shown on WB. The struggle for prominence, jealousy, rivalry between two half brothers, agonies of a single mother, love of two talented players for the same girl, overall teenage emotions are the subject matter of this series.

Dan Scott and Lucas’s mother Karen were romantically involved in high school. One day Karen came to know that she is carrying Dan’s baby. Dan refuses to take the responsibility and went to pursue his career to college getting a basketball scholarship abandoning Karen to raise their son Lucas all by herself. However his basketball career didn’t work out well and he returned to Tree Hill only to marry a woman called Deb whom he met at college. Dan started a car business and became successful in it. In the mean time Deb gives birth to Dan’s son Nathan.

At his teens Nathan becomes very popular at school. The main reason of his popularity came from his ability as a basketball player. He is a regular in the school team called the Ravens. Nathan’s half brother Lucas is also inherited the talent in basketball but he is not seen in the school playground. Nathan falls in love with a beautiful blonde cheerleader of the same school Peyton Sawyer. On the other hand as Peyton had lost her mother when she was a child she knows the pains of a child of a single parent and felt sympathetic for Lucas, later this feeling is turned out to be a romantic one. This intimacy increased the tension between Nathan and Lucas.

One day Lucas’s talent in basketball was discovered by the basketball coach of the school Whitey. He readily offers Lucas to join the school which is turned down by him. When Dan left Karen then Keith, Dan’s elder brother looked after her and now he has become like a father figure to Lucas. Actually from the very beginning Keith was in love with Karen but was unable to tell her. Keith has a garage and Lucas uses to work there.

Lucas’s behavior and attitude gradually increases his fan following in the school and Peyton’s interest made Nathan mad at him. Nathan challenged Lucas in a one on one game with a condition.

In the first big match of his life Lucas couldn’t see his mother among the audience. He plays very bad with a broken heart. Envious Nathan then tells Peyton about how bad a player Lucas is. The very next day Lucas and Nathan had a fight at school. Lucas decides to quit the school team with a disturbed mind but his mother explains that why she was absent on the match day. She wanted to avoid Dan. Karen and Lucas’s friend Jake influenced him not to quit the school team. On the next game Lucas performed superbly. Dan and Nathan got enraged and Nathan took some mean method to stop Lucas but he failed miserably.

One Tree Hill is the creation of Mark Schwahn who can understand the pulse of the young generation very much and gifted them with something they can relate to.

While the many channels on your tv are full of various tv shows, there are a few that capture your attention instantly hook you before you even notice. The Californication TV show definitely falls into this category. Providing viewers with a dose of comedy and drama, the show has earned itself an impressive rating of 8.7/10 on the reputed imdb website. Starring David Duchovny in the lead role, the series is loosely based on the life of well-known American writer and poet, Charles Bukowski.

Duchovny plays the role of Hank Moody, a writer who moves to California to overcome writer’s block. Moving along with Moody to the west coast are his steady girlfriend Karen (played by Natascha mcelhone) and their daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin). Moody, however, is not only combating a bad case of writer’s block but also his lack of resistance to such overwhelming desires as sex, alcohol and drugs.

He was trying to convince his girlfriend about his ability as a trustworthy and loyal spouse and a loving father. In the show the writer goes through various odd conditions in his daily life and he holds writer’s block responsible for all this. The show of 30 minutes is completely amusing and enjoyable. At the end the characters gains lot of sympathy for him for the jumbles he does in the series.

Moody’s agent and his wife are two more major characters in the series played by Evan Handler and Pamela Adlon respectively. Damian Young plays the part of Karen’s fianc Bill Lewis. Mia Lewis is Bill’s teenage daughter played by Madeline Zima. Apart from these main characters there are some tiny roles which take the story ahead. All together the show is enjoyable and worth watching.

It is not shocking that the show has received three awards till the date and many nominations which need not be mentioned. Two from the total three awards are Emmy awards won by Peter Levy and Michael Weaver for Outstanding Cinematography in the year 2008 and 2009 respectively. Duchovny received the third award, the Golden Globe Award for the best television act in male section. Among the nominations three were from Golden Globe for Duchovny for best depiction of Hank Moody. In these three nominations Duchovny won the award once.

Californication is definitely one tv series that anyone would love watching a second time in its entirety. We’re realistic enough to agree though that the previous seasons will not be aired a second time on Showtime. However, there’s some good news for die-hard fans of this popular tv series. Voices rendered by professionals such as Will Smith, Jack Black, Renee Zellweger, Angelina Jolie, Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro enliven the roles of every animated character in the movie.

Created in 2004, the Shark Tale movie starts with Oscar, a small fish (voice by Will Smith), hurrying along to his job as a whale-tongue washer with dreams of finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. His day-dreaming is brought to an abrupt halt by his boss Sykes (Martin Scorsese) who reminds him of a large outstanding debt that needs to be repaid the next day.

Angie (Renee Zellweger) serves as a good example for the saying ‘A friend in need is a friend indeed’ and tries helping out the fore mentioned small fish, Oscar. She offers this valuable help by pawning her valuable property and inheritance. While Oscar is on his way to deliver the owed money to Sykes and repay his debt, he is struck once again by the addictive environment of racehorse betting that compels him to place an unsafe bet on one of the horses.

Oscar loses all the money that he was betting on in the horse race and becomes tensed about the potential consequences that may follow when he won’t be able to repay his debt. In the midst of all these tensions, Oscar faces a tough situation when he is confronted by Lenny (Jack Black) and his brother Frankie (Michael Imperioli).

As Lenny prepares to attack (well almost) Oscar as per the orders of his elder brother Frankie, Lenny manages to rescue Oscar from this troublesome situation. Frankie notices the intentions of Lenny of disobeying him and charges towards Lenny. An anchor hits Frankie accidentally and he dies. Lenny runs off from the spot and Oscar by the turn of fate wins the title of ‘Shark slayer’.

Oscar’s dream of becoming rich comes true. But all this leisure and luxury has a price attached with it that Oscar did not observe. It was the revengeful attitude of Don Lino (Robert De Niro), father of Frankie and Lenny that was on fire and intended to finish off the life of Oscar. Oscar in his personal life faces turmoil as Angie senses the betrayal.
